Living and Creating Art on the Road: My Journey in the RV Studio

For those who know me, it's no secret that traveling has always held a special place in my heart. The freedom of exploration, the thrill of new experiences, and the joy of connecting with people from different walks of life have always fascinated me. Recently, last year on July 2022 I embarked on a new chapter of my life, embracing a nomadic lifestyle where I can fully immerse myself in art while traversing the world. Welcome to the incredible journey of living and traveling in my RV, lovingly named "Studio."

Embracing Freedom: There is an indescribable sense of liberation that comes with living on the road. Shedding the weight of commitments, routines, and the familiar, I have ventured into the unknown, letting my art guide me. Each day is a blank canvas waiting to be filled with colors, shapes, and stories. The freedom to wake up in a different place each morning and witness the beauty of nature firsthand is an artist's dream come true.

Connecting with People: One of the most enriching aspects of this nomadic lifestyle is the opportunity to meet extraordinary individuals along the way. From fellow artists to kind-hearted locals and fellow adventurers, each person I encounter adds a unique brushstroke to the canvas of my journey. Sharing stories, inspirations, and techniques with like-minded creatives has opened my eyes to the diverse perspectives that art holds in different cultures and communities.

Pollyana Conte is a native of Brazil, but has lived in the US since she was seven. She works with watercolor, gouache, pencil, charcoal, and acrylic.

Her exhibit, "Medley", is a trio of her collective works. The first is a series of fishing flies, butterflies, and birds, in watercolor. The second is a series of architectural pieces, done in pen & ink and watercolor. The third collection is a group of figurative pieces, also done with pen & ink and watercolor.

In January 2020 I became a now a full-time artist! I am the Principal Artist, in Residence, at Mélange Arts Studio & Gallery, a new art studio and gallery at The Shoppes at Gower, located on Laurens Rd. I still do portraits, but have really stretched my wings and find that finely detailed watercolors are very rewarding. Come see my latest work, originals and prints, including adorable little birds, sailboats, a series of blue and white ginger jars, oysters...

Where it began…

Pollyana Conte and Paula forged a relationship over their shared passion for raising funds for The Walk to End Alzheimer’s, where Paula immediately noticed Polly’s innate artistic talent.

Both women believed art would be a way to increase awareness about the disease in their community of Greenville, SC. Their body of work grew beyond that of Alzheimer’s Awareness scarves, ties, and stationery, becoming the diverse collection it is today, including several artists' original art, prints, jewelry, custom designed scarves, as well as a myriad of unique home accessories. Thus, Mélange Arts was born in April of 2019.
