My work is influenced by both my Brazilian culture and my faith in Christ. While I was born in South America, I have lived in the USA for 15 years. My interest in drawing and painting began in early childhood and while our family moved many times, my art has been a constant in my life, as both a challenge and an outlet; a discipline and a passion; a source of personal renewal and a gift to others. I’ve found I don’t have to chase inspiration, but rather trust that it will pop up like a treasured friend, showing up at any time and in any place through other artists, musics or colors, and new experiences. I am not confined to one subject area, preferring to vary my projects and media. Though pencil is my favorite medium, I like to extend to watercolor, resin, ink and charcoal.
